After John had pried my hands from the entrance of the Sloth Factory, we waved a slow, three fingered salute to our friends and boarded a bus to our final destination: Puerto Viejo.
Folks, the day that we have both been waiting for since this trip was first envisioned finally arrived today. We visited the Sloth Sanctuary. We met the sloths!!!
Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside. Oh, I do like to be beside the sea! That’s a lie…I mostly dislike the beach…but it’s really hard to dislike Cahuita.
We left San José mighty early, Jungle Tom Safaris picked us up from our hostel at 6:00am and we were soon on the way to Torteguero.

It’s an incredibly pleasant feeling to not know, or need to know, what day of the week it is. When you happen to find out, by accident, that it’s Saturday…well, that’s a perfect excuse to do absolutely nothing for a whole day.

As much as we tried to deny it…our time at Rancho Margot had come to an end. Our next stop was the Cloud forests of Monteverde.
Last year on Becci’s birthday we had cheeseburgers with friends, and went to the record store. This year, we celebrated Becci’s cumpleaños by kayaking to a volcano.
We spent our first full day at Rancho Margot laying around, reading and eating delicious food. Okay, we did a tour…but that was only about 1.5 hours of an 8 hour day in which we actually moved around outside of our bungalow.
